Hello!

My name is Agostina. I am Argentinian, currently living in Italy. I recently completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. Previously, I worked as an accountant for three years. My goal is to accompany your organization in its growth based on data-driven decisions.

HOW I LANDED IN DATA ANALYSIS

I grew up in a small town called Serrano, located in the province of Cordoba, Argentina. At 18 years old, I moved to Rio Cuarto to become a certified accountant at the National University of Rio Cuarto.

I have worked as an accountant for three years. At first, as an intern and then in a full-time role in an accounting firm in the payroll area. During my last year there, while being in charge of creating reports through SQL and Excel for the clients' human resources areas, I had my first contact with data analysis.

At that time, I became aware of two things, which, in part, led me to where I stand today. Number one is the amount of data companies constantly generate without even noticing.

The second is the impact that willfully analyzed data can have on the performance of an organization, its results, and its relationship with society and the environment. This idea captivated me.

In middle 2021 I decided to immerse myself fully in data analysis. I started by reviewing the Business Intelligence tools I had learned in college, mainly Excel and Power BI. Then, I took the Data Analyst course dictated by Google, where I learned R and Tableau and went deeply into SQL. Always following the project-based learning principle.

In March 2022, I made a trip I had been planning for a long time. I moved to Italy to obtain recognition of my Italian citizenship by Iure Sanguinis since my great-grandfather was born there.

This trip allowed me to reconnect with my roots, get to know a wonderful country and culture, and what I am most proud of, master Giusi's lasagna recipe, a lovely woman I met in Trieste.

Also took advantage of my free time improving my data analyst skills and learning new tools. Many of the projects you will find in this portfolio (including the portfolio itself) are the product of this thrilling time in my life.

Nowadays, I find myself looking for the opportunity to accompany an organization on its way to achieving its goals and growing as a professional in data analysis.

"CYCLISTIC" DATA ANALYSIS

"Cyclistic Case Study" is the capstone project of the Google Data Analysis Certificate. It allowed me to apply some of the tools learned throughout the course, like SQL and R, in a real-world case.

What I enjoyed the most about this project was integrating the different stages of the data analysis process, from preparing the data to presenting the main insights.

WEB SCRAPING & INVESTMENT SIMULATOR

This is a tool to simulate the result of a diversified investment in the US capital market, through Python scripts.

The project objective is to extract the daily closing prices of the S&P 500 index and make it available in a centralized database, which serves as a supply for the calculation of the annualized rate of return, defined as a compound interest rate. This outcome, processed in a python script together with the parameters entered by the user, determines the estimated result (final capital) of the investment.

POWER BI PROJECTS

This repository helps me gather all the Power BI dashboards I enjoyed doing the most. You will find a description of each project, the implementation process, a preview of the dashboard, and the PBIX file.

I did some of them just for learning purposes and others with the intention to solve a specific necessity for myself, friends or family member.
